PRESS RELEASE

ACTIVIST MOVES ON

Lois Hainsworth MBE,  from  Stroud, Gloucestershire,  passed away on 8 October 2016.  A much travelled writer, singer, public speaker and activist for equality especially for women and girls, Lois lived a full life with vigour, vision and creativity.

An active member of a number of women’s organisations, often elected to roles at local, national and international levels, she worked passionately for her ideals of a united humanity living in peace and prosperity.  Her faith as a Baha’i gave her hope and further motivation to work for equality for which she was awarded an MBE.

After a number of years fighting dementia, her body declined and she slipped into eternal sleep, gently as a mist, while living at Scarlet House Stroud.  Her life touched many and she is well loved and remembered by countless numbers whom she supported, encouraged and inspired.

The funeral takes place on Friday 21 October 2016 in Stroud.
