1. Petition: A feminist agenda for Antonio Guterres, the new UN Secretary General.

The UN Feminist Network is planning to send a feminist agenda to the UN Secretary General’s transition team. To date they have almost 800 signatures but it would be fantastic to reach 1000 before handing in the agenda. To sign the petition please click here.

2. Seminar Series: UCL Institute of  Education – Feminism, Gender and Sexuality Seminar Series

The UCL Institute of Education are running a seminar serious exploring the issues of gender, feminism and sexuality comprising of two seminars. The first one will be hosted by Goldsmiths University on Tuesday 15th November, 1 – 2.15pm with a focus on research on girls and physical activity.  For more information please click here.

3. Consultancy: Gender Situation Analysis: Indonesia and India – Girl Effect

Girl Effect build mass media brands, with mobile interactivity that engage girls and key influencers in their lives to effect changes in social norms. They will be launching operations in Indonesia and India in 2017. In order to inform the country strategies, including setting country change objectives for their products, Girl Effect is commissioning a gender analysis of the country landscape for India and Indonesia.

4. Job: International Rescue Committee (IRC) – Adolescent Girls Program Specialist.

IRC have a position for an Adolescent Girls Program Specialist. The role is based in New York and candidates must have a MA in public health, social work, child development, education or other related field as well as direct experience of working on programmes with adolescent girls. 5. Job: International Rescue Committee (IRC) – WPE Adolescent Girls Emergency Specialist.

IRC have a position for an Adolescent Girls Emergency Specialist in their Women’s Protection and Empowerment unit. This exciting role is based in Nigeria, candidates must have gender based violence programme and management experience as well as experience in empowering adolescent girls. 6. Job: International Rescue Committee (IRC) – Technical Advisor, Gender Health Unit.

IRC have a position for a Technical Advisor in their Gender and Health Unit. This interesting advisory role is based in New York and candidates should have experience in gender equal project design, proposal development, and fundraising as well as Master of Public Health or equivalent. 7. Job: International Rescue Committee (IRC) – Economic Wellbeing Coordinator.

IRC have a position for an Economic Wellbeing Coordinator in their Economic Recovery and Development unit. 10. Opportunity: GADN Trustee

11. Resource: ‘Brave Creative Resilient: The global State of Young Feminist Organising’ byFRIDA

The Young Feminist Fund & Association for Women’s Rights in Development’s Young Feminist Activism Program (FRIDA) have produced a new report. It provides a ‘snapshot’ of who young feminist organisations are, the issues and strategies they work on, and the financial and political realities that shape their work. 12. Resource: ‘Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women and Girls in the UK: Meeting the challenge of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)’ by The British Council.

The British Council have released a report which explores gender equality in the UK from the perspective of the UN’s SDGs. It focuses on gaps and priorities for further action in five key areas: participation, power and leadership; education; economy; justice and violence against women and girls and culture (including arts, sports and technology). To read the full report please visit here.

13. Resource: DFID VAWG Helpdesk Evidence Digest, November 2016 edition.

The VAWG Helpdesk is pleased to invite you to take a few minutes to read the tenth edition (November 2016) of the DFID VAWG Helpdesk Evidence Digest; a quarterly newsletter reviewing the latest research and evidence, policy and news on violence against women and girls.

14. Briefing: Gender-Just Macroeconomics; Engaging the World Bank and IMF.

The Bretton Woods Project has published its latest briefing, Gender-Just Macroeconomics; Engaging the World Bank and IMF. As part of the Gender Equality and Macroeconomics project, the booklet is a civil society guide to why macroeconomics is important for gender equality, how the IMF and World Bank shape global macroeconomic policy, and most importantly how civil society can engage with these powerful institutions for gender-justice. We hope you can share the booklet with your civil society networks interested in learning about these issues.

15. Event: Three years too many: how the conflict has affected women and girls in South Sudan – 22nd November 2016, 15:30-17:00.

The ongoing conflict in South Sudan has had a severe impact on the lives of women and girls in the world’s youngest country, particularly since fighting resurged in December 2013. This parliamentary event organised by GAPS will identify recommendations and concrete actions for the UK Government for the women and girls in South Sudan. 16. Event: Central America Women’s Network(CAWN) 25^th anniversary – 25th November 2016, 3:30pm-9pm

CAWN are celebrating their 25^th anniversary and are inviting you to celebrate with them. The event will comprise of a presentation their final report “Reflections on the road travelled by CAWN: 25 years of solidarity and women’s rights”  as well as a panel discussion exploring issues such as the situation of Latin American migrants and the challenges faced by feminist movements. 17. Event: Latin American Women’s Aid (LAWA) – Annual General Meeting- London 25^thNovember 2016, 6pm–8pm 

LAWA would like to invite you to their annual general meeting on November 25^th They will be reflecting on the importance of preventing violence against women and girls from Latin American, black and minority ethnic (BME) background, through sharing their own experiences of empowerment. 18. CSW61: GADN Timetable for registering for events.
