NAWO is delighted to invite you to the launch of the Gender Equality Network.
The National Alliance of Women’s Organisation is thrilled to have joined forces with Exeter University, Wagggs, Duke Edinburgh International Awards, Plan International, UK Youth and Soroptimists International in pursuit of gender equality.
Through the network, we will be pooling our expertise, knowledge and creativity, with a particular focus on young people and achieving gender equality through leadership development and practice.
As NAWO members, I’m sure you will agree that we can do much more to influence change by working together.
To this end, we are hosting a reception (including drinks and canapés!) on May 23rd 2018 at 18.00 at SCI, 14/15 Belgrave Square, London, SW1X 8PS
The event is free, but ticketed. Please click here to register.
Our launch will be a fantastic event, offering the opportunity to:
- Discuss our work to-date
- Explore our future ambitions
- Network with like-minded organisations, policy makers and individuals who are working towards gender equality, particularly in the context of youth and leadership.
- Speakers are to be announced nearer the time.
Aims of the evening
Alongside celebrating our official launch, our aim is to set out what the network seeks to achieve, our progress thus far, as well as to publicise and extend the network of organisations and individuals working towards gender equality and leadership development for young people.
Why Young People?
Telling the story through young people is hugely important to us. We want to raise awareness of the issues as told to us by young people, and strengthen their knowledge, skills and confidence to engage in conversation and advocate for women’s rights (human rights) and gender equality.
We very much hope the launch will enable us to build a shared momentum around the activities in this space, increasing its visibility and impact, both in terms of policy and public perception, and creating opportunities for partnerships.
How You Can Participate:
If you would like to join us, please register here: Network for Gender Equality launch event
We will have a marketplace where participating organisations can introduce themselves and their work. Guests will be able to meet representatives and learn more about them. Please let us know in advance if you would like to bring a poster.
