(*) The SDGs and Ending Violence Against Women and Girls
30 November, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
The National Alliance of Women’s Organisations is delighted to be hosting this event in the House of Commons, chaired by Roberta Blackman-Woods MP, as an exciting exploration into how the Sustainable Development Goals can be used to create real change in the UK, specifically to aid us in ending violence against women and girls.
This event will also be part of a day’s lobbying together with our afternoon event hosted by Baroness Verma in the House of Lords. We look forward to a day’s celebration and activism as part of the culmination of our Young Women’s Alliance Advance initiative. Young women will be centre stage, having the chance to use the knowledge, confidence and capacity gained throughout the programme to share their experiences, views and hopes for how they think the SDGs must be used to achieve gender equality.
We are very grateful to Jess Phillips MP for her support in enabling the event to happen and further details of speakers will be announced shortly! To book please click here.
We are excited to engage in this critical and timely event with all those interested – from those in the charity sector, activists, those passionate about policy, and passionate people of all genders and ages.
Until then take a look at YWA Advance or @NAWOYouth for more information, or see our website for more information on recent events in our SDG series, see our activist’s guide and indicators report events at the relevant links.
